Located in the heart of River County in beautiful downtown Newaygo, The Heritage Museum of Newaygo County offers a tranquil venue in a stunningly renovated historical building. Soothing forest colors, an innovative use of materials, dramatic architecture, and unique local artwork are spread throughout the spaces, making a perfect backdrop for your special event. From weddings and proms to corporate events, holiday parties, and social gatherings, the HMNC transforms into an elegant space for you and your guests.
The Museum features a selection of both spacious and intimate event venues. We have rooms available during the day for meetings or parties, evening rentals of main gallery, and custom-tailored combinations of spaces to suit your needs admirably.
Historic downtown Newaygo, with its turn-of-the-century architecture, and the close proximity of parks both on and off the beautiful Muskegon River provide excellent backdrops for wedding photos or have a memorable ceremony in shady Brooks Park across the street and stroll over to the Museum for your reception! Restaurants and bars are within walking distance, and a social zone on the doorstep allow you and your guests to continue the fun on your own terms!
Gallery Space
Our largest and most dramatic space, the main gallery features a century old polished concrete floor, a barrel vaulted ceiling with “sunburst” beams, and walls accentuated by the beauty of natural wood and murals created by local artists Stacey Kirk and Renae Wallace. You can choose to have as many or few exhibits left in place as suits your needs. Depending on the configuration of the room, the space can accommodate up to 300 people for a reception, or 150 for a sit-down dinner. The room can be combined with the adjoining large meeting room for bar or buffet service.

Large Meeting Room
The bright and attractive large meeting room functions as our multipurpose space. The room can accommodate up to 60 people in a theater seating format, or up to 45 in table clusters or classroom setups. The room comes equipped with 8 color coordinated laminate topped tables and a corresponding number of chairs. The room also has a small sink, a coffee maker, a small beverage cooler stocked with HMNC bottled water, white and pin boards, a color coordinated podium, and an 86” smart television that can be easily connected to outside technology.

Forest View Room
So called the forest view room because of a beautiful forest mural by noted local artist Eric LeMire that encompasses one entire wall. The room is decorated in soothing shades of green and brown. The configuration is generally set up as a board room, but can be arranged for other uses. The room comes with four color coordinated laminate topped tables and 14 upholstered swivel chairs on casters. The room also has a long counter which can serve as a buffet, a credenza cabinet, a coffee maker, a small beverage cooler stocked with HMNC bottled water, white and pin boards, and a 64” smart television that can be easily connected to outside technology.
